For many years Robert Hughes Limited has been a significant player in the field of residential development in the Lake District. In the past our speciality has been the conversion of redundant buildings to provide homes of high quality on select developments, set amidst some of the most beautiful countryside in England.
From 2004 we developed a close working relationship with the Preston-based Eric Wright Group through a joint-venture company, Applethwaite Limited, which produced several acclaimed developments. These include The Ferry House, comprising thirteen luxury apartments set in an unrivalled position on the shores of Lake Windermere and The Royal, an award-winning landmark mixed retail and residential scheme in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere.
In 2008 Robert Hughes and Applethwaite became wholly-owned by the Eric Wright Group. This coming together of skills under one umbrella, now allows us to develop residential and mixed-use schemes in a broader geographical area across Cumbria, Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. We are also developing a wider range of schemes including new-build social housing, intermediate and family homes, as well as our long-established market of conversions and luxury new homes.
